Making Poems, Making Bread

Pretty fun Saturday evening going, Final Four games on (Louisville/Kentucky right now, Kansas/OSU later) and Bonnie is making some bread. Its sort of creepy, as I type, the towel over the bread keeps raising higher and higher to my left. Louisville within 3! Bonnie is cheering from the office. Silva 3...tie game!

What happened this week, you ask? Most notable was Bonnie spilling the beans about the news (spilling the news about the Bean??) to her parents on Friday. She wrote a really fun poem to both Mike and Mary, along with a Pizza to Mike and flowers to Mary. When they got their gift she had them text her and she sent them the following...

For Mary: Roses are Red, violets are blue, Steve and I have a big surprise for you.
This is such a big secret only a few people know, but soon my belly will begin to grow.
So while you're sitting on the beach, working on your tan, think about what you would like to be called, Grandma, Granny, or Gran!
This is hush hush for now, I hope you'll remember,
Baby Clark will be arriving sometime in November!

For Mike: Same, but substituted this line in for the beach one
So while you're hunting on the mountain tops, think about what you would like to be called, grandpa, Papaw, or Pops

Shelly and Laura heard the news too which was a little out of plan but certainly no big deal. We plan on telling my parents this weekend when they come down. Monday Dad and I are playing The Frog, pizza and championship game Monday, first doctors appointment on Tuesday, then down to Florida for a few days with the IU guys on Wednesday. Should be a great week! Kentucky wins, yuck.....

Camp Sanders

What a fun, exciting, and tiring weekend it was here in Atlanta. Paul, Pancake, and Brady came down with Adam for the Kentucky/IU sweet sixteen game, and Megan was here for work all week as well. It was a great game to watch despite the outcome, from the pep rally to the front row seats Tony Bo hooked us up with to the offensive explosions from both teams (90-102) it was all around a memorable experience. We golfed this morning coming off of 2.5 hours of sleep (due to a 1.5 hour mental recap of every play on our deck the 'night' before) and then went to Fox Brothers (burnt ends special!), it was quite the day. Bonnie and Megan met up Danielle for dinner while I slept the evening away.

Bonnie never ceases to impress me, she made it all week without telling Megan the big news. I still think females can tell though, like if it crossed Megan's mind "Why isn't Bonnie drinking Diet Coke?" (which I'm sure it did) and she doesn't ask that question that means she kind of knows. Right?  Regardless, Bonnie's self control is awesome, no DC for her in a week and a half. I did like her idea of breaking the news to people, had IU won, via a sign at the elite 8 game tomorrow. As for the pregnancy, Bonnie was not feeling so hot this week. It was exciting for her to say that little Bean is the size of an orange seed now. My strategy has been to alter the gender in every prayer, so in one I'll pray for her and the next I'll pray for him. Bonnie is thinking girl, I am split 60 boy/ 40 girl right now but am having a much harder time than usual figuring it out.

Small group get together tomorrow, the girls and going to see Hunger Games and the guys are playing tennis/watching basketball over here, one week till spring break...

Monday evening, looking like a pretty hectic week here. Megan is coming Wednesday night for a few days and it sounds like Adam and Paul are coming down (with Brady and Chad) for the IU game (IU beat VCU the other night to go to the sweet 16!). I've been trying to find some reasonably priced tickets, looks like I got some for a hundred a pop, which is much better than what TicketMaster is asking. We are hosting small group Wednesday and are opening up with Chapter one of Forgotten God, should be a pretty good study. Sounds like we are gonna go through out the old love seat, gotta go!

Thursday, March 15
What a day! Bonnie has been pushing for us to start journaling for the longest, sort of like when you are trying to start a new workout, no time ever seems right. Well tonight seems to be pretty right as the Hoosiers won their first NCAA game in the Tom Crean era as Hulls went off for 22. It was really fun to watch a meaningful IU game in march as it has been a long time coming. If we take care of VCU on Saturday then the IU Kentucky rematch will be here in the ATL next week...unreal!
She shocked me with THIS!
Oh, and Bonnie is pregnant! How cool is that? She found out last night and let me know tonight by giving me a 'gift' of a pregnancy test with 'yes' written on it. I legitimately thought she got me a thermometer for 10 seconds and almost put it in my mouth to see if I had a fever before i realized what was going on. We feel so blessed and are pretty overwhelmed by God's timing, we have had a not-so-great stretch of feeling somewhat stuck in the monotony of our jobs and wondering what we should do in our near future. We pretty much agreed to be excited for a few days before we really think about what this all means, but an early December birth would likely put us in Atlanta for another year (jobs/insurance/not moving during a pregnancy) so that is exciting as well. Well that is all for now, hopefully this thing stays private b/c we are really looking forward to telling people when the time is right..
