2 Months

Sorry, overdue for an update here. Sam will be 10 weeks old here in a few days. He had his big 2 month appointment on Thursday and did great with all of his shots. He is 24.5 inches (96th percentile), 13 pounds (67th), and a 99th percentile noggin! He is on a pretty consistent eating schedule with Bon and is doing good sleeping too, after his 10:00 feed he makes it anywhere between 3 and 5:30 am. We love our little dude, he has been quite interactive lately and we heard his first laugh the other night that cracked us up! He is a character.

We spent almost a full two weeks up in Indiana for Christmas, had an awesome time. We have been back in Atlanta for three weeks now from the break, which means three more weeks of basketball season and till Bon goes back to work. It is really a blessing that those dates synched up so well.

Not even sure where to start with Sam's updates, so I'll just upload a bunch of pictures that would probably earn an F on a Timeline grade and go from there.

Mom can always get a smile

Big win over Blessed Trinity on his 2 month BDay

Duck face!

He loved the retro hoodie, it was Ben's when he was a baby

Went out to see the Taylor's new puppy, a 9 week baby hanging out with a 6 week puppy was pretty outstanding
Will be a sad day when Sam outgrows the football hold, he is getting harder to hold as he gets stronger

Bath time after his 7 pm feed, he always has a pretty hilarious nonchalant look. Also funny how the bath already looks to small for him
Valentine's Day pose

Playing Simon Says

Snuggle Bunny also getting filled up when he stretches out

Loves looking in the mirror at himself

Sam and Grandpa Mike at Christmas

Action shot of the Jello shooters bouncing all over the table

Sam met all of the critters

SamStrong shirts were a highlight of the week, thanks again to Uncle Jeff!

The cousins, #10 asleep

Hannah gave Sam a great bath

Uncle Adam and Aunt Casie sent the coolest shoes, a bit big but still love them!

We have had basketball practice before school, which is nice b/c I am home by 4:30 on non gamedays, which can tend to turn into afternoon naps

Hilarious range of emotions

1 month old, no big deal to me!

Had fun going to see the girls over break

Sam's bath in the Turkey roaster

Girls were busy one day

Sam's first 'blizzard!' Ended up not being as bad as the forecast, was still fun getting 5 or 6 inches the day after Christmas

3 weeks

Sam is a month old in one week already! Crazy... but then again, it seems like the C Section was 3  months ago. We had a fun weekend with Maggie and Papa Jack, lots of Mustang hoops, walks around the loop, and Sam's first church on Sunday. Tomorrow will be my last day off before going back to school. Sammy is doing awesome, we love our little big dude. Here are some pics from the last week...

Welcome Sam!

The last two and a half weeks have been a whirlwind, instead of doing a play-by-play here is a clip covering a lot of it. Will post a lot of these pictures and much more later!

Rats!

As Charlie Brown would say.
Looks like our predictions were off, 2 days past due date and no baby. The good news is I am off school this week for Thanksgiving so Bon won't have to be alone all day. She is feeling pretty cruddy, on top of being in her 41st week she caught a nasty cold I had last week. We are heading to an appointment at 10:30 tomorrow to see if there is an update, if nothing happens this week it looks like we will go in Friday and she will get induced.

Last weekend we went up to Lake Allatoona with the dog to get away a bit, had a great time and the weather was awesome. Ruby went nuts the whole time, I added a video of what she did for an hour straight.

We had our Last Supper at Anticos with our small group on Wednesday. With Bean coming, basketball starting up, and the Davis'/McEwins driving an hour every week it was time to break. Hopefully reunite at the hospital SOON!

Bonnie and I went to Scalinis last night. They are famous for serving a dish (Eggplant Parm with garlic rolls) that cause labor to start early. If you have the baby within 24 hours they give you free dinners and put your baby picture up on the wall. It didn't work but the food was awesome and we had a great time! My vote it to go back every night until its showtime.

Ruby joined us for Church this morning, which was cool, apparently even dogs don't get bored listening to Andy.

So, those are the updates. Bonnie and Vanessa went to Twilight on Friday night, Jon joined me to scout a basketball game. I talked to Brian Gregory for 10 minutes or so, really cool dude. We play Riverwood on Tuesday for our first game. We went to our JV game yesterday, they won easily.

Alright, next blog is going to have some real updates. And possibly a new blog name...

Countdown

10 days till due date! Bonnie feels more than ready to get this thing going and meet little(ish) Bean. As I am sitting here on Election Day (day off) and noticing it has been well over a month since we typed any updates I'll try and go back and hit a few things...

- We went to an all day class 3 weekends ago and a breast feeding class 2 weekends ago in Buckhead. Very informative. The teacher reminded us of Grandma Clark in her unintentional humor by being so straightforward/borderline offense at times with her comments, she was really good for sure though.

-Bonnie has been feeling better the last 3 or 4 days. Mary and Laura were sweet to send a foot pillow to help prop her legs up, swelling has been a pretty big symptom. She took yesterday off work to meet Natalie for breakfast and today she gets off at 1, not working as many of those 12 hour shifts has helped a lot. I would probably equate trying to keep Bonnie off her feet as probable as trying to get Sandy to talk when no one was around as a child, but hey I can always try!
This was last week, thankfully has not been as bad this week

-Bon did have two appointments in 4 days last week, Dr. Cook was concerned with her swelling and hinted she may need to stop working, then one of the other 3 docs saw her the next one and didn't seem to think it was a big deal. That pretty much sums up her feelings about the process, frustrating to hear different things from one appointment to the next plus them having to leave so quickly (as they both did last week) for births has made it a bit stressful. Good news we keep saying is they will be there immediately when called for Bean

-This Friday will be her last day of work (November 9). I'm calling an 11/11 showtime, Bon is hoping for this Friday. Who knows???

-Recent baby purchase: The Yellow Thing, as Phil and Susan call it (or 'The Snugabunny' as I sheepishly asked for on the phone to Babies R Us, which led to Bonnie almost laughing herself into a birth). Without succumbing to any more baby lingo I'll call it the moveable bed

-In other news, basketball cuts/practice started last Monday so it is nice to have a day today to get a few things around. We will head to her Dr appointment, to vote, and get me a shot here this afternoon.

-School is crazier than ever. Ms. Wallace, Mr. Jackson, and Ms. Spence are all gone so the department is down to Mr. Frazier and myself, meaning I am having to get the subs set up every day. We made the news too when Ramir (the midget) brought a gun to school

And finally, the surprise date night. Dinner at an Asian fusion restaurant followed by a night at the Symphony. A surprise it was...

8 Weeks to Due Day

Lots to catch up on...2 birthdays, a Labor Day trip to Indiana, another baby shower, and lots of Bean growth. Let's start by hearing from the Momma.

-At week 32 my belly began to go out moreso than forward
-Walking up our driveway feels like running a marathon
-This morning I could barely fit my feet in my sperries
- Bean has felt more like a treadmill rolling across the top of my belly than sharp punches like earlier
-I love hearing Steve laugh when he feels Bean kick
-I've been getting lots of leg cramps at night and dizziness a few times a week
-I've been wearing Steve shirts to bed
-Glucose screen came back high, 3 hour glucose test the next week came back negative :)

Working backwards on a few other things, We were sick for the last week, sore throat, sinus pressure, runny nose, cough, etc. We think we got it up in Indiana, Hannah and Casie both had a bug. Yesterday was the first day we really felt better.

Shower at the Whatley's
We decided to go to Indiana for Labor day at the last second. It turned out to be a great trip, last time to the Hoosier state before the Bean comes. We left at 4 AM on Saturday, went through Bloomington to meet Ty's fiance Katie, swung through and saw Tyce (few weeks before his wedding), spent the afternoon/evening celebrating our Birthdays in Danville, spent Sunday at Nate and Erica's new house, then drove back Monday.
